Mechanism of action of novel antitumor drugs

Research

  Scientific Activities

The research activity, in collaboration with national and international research groups, deals with: a) the study of the mechanism of transport and action of polyamines in rat mitochondria isolated from liver or heart; b) the study of the mechanism of action of natural and synthetic compounds: effect on normal and tumor cells; c) the study of the interactions between natural or synthetic compounds and cellular targets.

Reviewer for the following international journals: Archives of Dermatological Research, Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Tetrahedron Letters, Journal of Natural Products and Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry. Visiting professor at the Tokyo University of Science in December 2008. She received three financial supports inside the "Iniziative di Cooperazione Universitaria-anno 2012" and "Iniziative di Cooperazione Universitaria-anno 2014" for a cooperation with the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and "Iniziative di Cooperazione Universitaria-anno 2015" for a cooperation with the Universidad de Colima (Mexico)
